HoneyPezil Supplement Facts: How to Read the Box Line by Line

Quick answer

A Supplement Facts box reads from the top: serving size, then each name with its amount, then percent Daily Value, then other ingredients. HoneyPezil is shown with more than one panel, so use these steps on the label you hold and never on a web page.

Top to bottom01

What does each part of a Supplement Facts box mean?

Each part answers one question: how much is one serving, what is in it, and how big is that against a daily need.

The flat HoneyPezil label: directions, caution and distributor on the left, the HoneyPezil wordmark and Advanced Memory Support in the middle, and a Supplement Facts panel on the right
The only label picture in the upload. Its Supplement Facts panel is "Label A". Picture supplied with the brief.

The picture above is the only label we have, and its panel is Label A. It is a worked example of the layout, not a claim that your bottle matches it. Our supplement facts page types out the whole panel.

Reading guide02

How do you read a line like niacin 7.5 mg NE?

Read the name, then the amount in the unit shown, then the percent Daily Value if one is printed.

Four label terms, shown with the Label A picture
TermPlain meaningOn Label A
Serving sizeThe amount the numbers describe1 capsule, 30 per container
NENiacin equivalents: 1 mg niacin or 60 mg tryptophan 1Niacin 7.5 mg NE
% Daily ValueShare of a reference amount; the niacin reference is 16 mg 147% for niacin
Daily Value not establishedNo reference amount exists for that namePrinted for the five amino acid lines

Check one number yourself: 7.5 is about 47 percent of 16. Calcium works the same way against 1,300 mg 2, so 18 mg lands near 1.5 percent.

Your own bottle03

How do you read the box on your bottle?

Read it in four passes, and photograph the box before you change anything.

  1. Serving

Note the serving size and servings per container. Thirty servings is a month at one a day.

  2. Names

Copy each name exactly, including forms such as HCl or malate.

  3. Amounts

Write the number with its unit. Milligrams and micrograms are not the same.

  4. Other ingredients

Read the line under the box for capsule material and allergens.

Limits04

What can a Supplement Facts box not tell you?

It cannot tell you that the bottle matches the box, that the amounts were tested, or that anything works.

NCCIH notes that what is on a label may not match what is in the product 3. The FDA does not approve supplements before they are sold 4. So a clean panel is a starting point for a question to your pharmacist, not an answer. Our testing page explains which checks exist.

The label you hold

If the box on your bottle differs from any panel on this site, trust the bottle and call the order desk.

Ordering05

What is the safest way to order after reading the box?

Order only after you have asked which panel goes with your lot, and check the box the day it arrives.

FAQ06

HoneyPezil questions people ask

What does a dash or an asterisk in a Supplement Facts box mean?

A symbol sends you to a footnote. Read the footnote line before you rely on the number.

Why is niacin shown as NE and not mg?

NE puts niacin and its tryptophan source on one scale. The label prints the unit it uses 1.

Does a high percent Daily Value mean a better product?

No. It only compares one amount with a reference amount.

Where do I find allergen information on a bottle?

Under the Supplement Facts box. The Label A picture prints no allergen statement.
